Policies , Procedures, And Duties Of A Color Guard Team
this Is how Our Color Guard Is Manned and Operated

Introduction
The Watkins Mill High School Color Guard team is an Elite Team. Whether in competition or during practices, the Color Guard Team is a representation to the unitand the School. Membership on the Color Guard Team demands that each member gives his\her best in support of the team.

This year will be the Color Guard Teams first year
Congratulations on making the team possible.
Welcome Aboard!
The Color Guard Team will perform with GHS and during "Special Events" when required. Over half a dozen drill meets have been scheduled and there are more to come. We look forward to winning them all!! We Might even make National Finals, and win all expense paid trips to the competition site!
Hope Is In Our Hearts and Dedication On Our Minds
 It is our intent that this S.O.P. will provide all Color Guard Team members an understanding of this years team procedures and regulations. You should review and understand what is expected.

Attendance \Academics

 Every Cadet must attend every practice scheduled
If the Cadet is unable to a practice he/she must hand in an absence note to the team Commander or Team Executive officer.
If a cadet cannot attend an assigned performance, it's that cadet's responsibility to notify the Team Commander immediately and make every attempt toto find a capable substitute.
All team members must adhere to the schools attendance policies as well as the school rules.
 A Uniform Contract must be signed and turned in if the cadet wishes to be on the team
Every cadet must be eligible grade wise and must show proper military bearing while at practice.

Awards

I. Ribbons

Ribbons will be awarded, when earned, to each Team member in good standing. You must have been in three performances and be an active member of the team.

II. Aiguillettes (Cords)

1)Each cadet must have to been a member in the team for at least one month if he/she wants to be considered for the cord.
2)During that month the cadet must have fully participated in all team practices and adhere to the attendance policies.
3) Violations of the team rules and regulations will result in the cadet having the Cord removed.

III. Team Varsity Letter

1) The cadet must have been an active member of the team for at least two marking periods.
2) Must have maintained an attendance record of at least 80% of all practices and preformed or have been present in at least 50% of all performances
